SAMMI

Request method: POST. SAMMI can award trophies directly with its HTTP Request command.

Fastest setup

Open your trophy in Manage Trophies, then choose SAMMI under Award with a web request → Basic → Choose your bot. Copy the prepared value: your keys, trophy code, and username variable are already filled in. Follow the steps shown there. The manual instructions below are an alternative, not additional required steps. For an unmodified URL used by those manual instructions, choose Default / Manual Setup.

Before you begin

Connect SAMMI to Twitch and connect SAMMI Bridge. Create a trophy in Manage Trophies. The recipient must have connected their Twitch account to Trophy Case and added your shelf.

Create the award button

  1. Create a SAMMI button and add a Twitch chat trigger, such as !trophy. Set its permissions to the audience you want to allow. A public command will let viewers claim this trophy themselves.
  2. Add Trigger Pull Data. Select the chat trigger's User Name value and save it as recipient.
  3. In Trophy Case, open the trophy's Award with a web request → Basic tab and copy its URL.
  4. Add an HTTP Request command to the SAMMI button. Set Method to POST.
  5. Paste the award URL into URL. Replace TWITCH_USERNAME with SAMMI's variable insertion text, /$recipient$/.
  6. Leave the optional header and body fields empty. Set Save Variable As to award_response and wait for the HTTP Request to finish before using its result.

The URL field will look like this, with your own award credentials and trophy code:

https://trophycase.gg/a/AWARD_ID/AWARD_SECRET/TROPHY_CODE//$recipient$/

The two slashes before $recipient are intentional: one belongs to the URL and the other starts SAMMI's variable placeholder. After substitution, the URL ends in /TROPHY_CODE/viewer_username.

SAMMI documents these controls under HTTP Request, Trigger Pull Data, and variable insertion.

Test the command

Run the command from Twitch chat using an account that has added your shelf. Check the recipient's case and the saved request result. Running the command again should report that the trophy is already owned, without creating another award.

The response body uses code to distinguish awarded, already_owned, and shelf_not_added. An HTTP 200 response alone does not mean a new trophy was awarded. See Award Responses before adding a chat announcement.

To use a Channel Points redemption instead, change the button's trigger and pull that trigger's User Name into the same recipient variable. See SAMMI's Twitch triggers.

Troubleshooting

  • No recipient: Trigger the button through Twitch; clicking it manually does not supply chat trigger data.
  • Request rejected: Confirm the method is POST and recopy the award URL if you changed your Award Secret.
  • Shelf not added: Ask the recipient to sign in to Trophy Case and add your shelf.
  • No response yet: HTTP Request is asynchronous; wait for completion before reading its saved result.

Keep the URL private, including in exported SAMMI decks and screenshots. GET access to award URLs is reserved for verified Nightbot requests; do not select GET in SAMMI.
